ChatGPT now can search in real time using the internet.
OpenAI isn't slowing down with the development of ChatGPT: only a few days after the AI chatbot added support for picture prompts and voice conversations, ChatGPT is now able to once again search the web and return answers that are right up to date.
To access, you need to be a ChatGPT Plus subscriber to give the bot access to the web, which will set you back $20 / £16 a month.
The feature is still labeled as being in beta, so expect more refinements and improvements in the future.
"ChatGPT can now browse the internet to provide you with current and authoritative information, complete with direct links to sources," says the OpenAI post on X. "It is no longer limited to data before September 2021."
ChatGPT get even better!
Prepare yourself for a new ChatGPT experience! With the addition of voice and image capabilities by OpenAI, ChatGPT will become even more dynamic and user-friendly. To get the most out of this sophisticated AI helper, you can now have voice conversations and ask questions using visuals in addition to text.
OpenAI announced new speech and image capabilities make ChatGPT a more dynamic and practical tool for everyone by enabling voice discussions and image searches.
Versatile voice features now allow users to ask ChatGPT to speak a bedtime story or respond to queries, enabling natural and interesting interactions. There will 5 voices to start with!
Upload an image, and ChatGPT will help describe what it is or give directions, improving the user experience and providing a variety of methods to obtain information. This will make image prompting easier with an eye to Midjourney.
Amazon invests $4 Billion in ChatGPT Competitor
Amazon has agreed to invest up to $4 billion in the AI startup Anthropic, the two firms said, as the e-commerce group steps up its rivalry against Microsoft, Meta, Google and Nvidia in the fast-growing sector that many technologists believe could be the next great frontier.
TechCrunch reported exclusively earlier this year that Anthropic, which also counts Google as an investor, plans to raise as much as $5 billion over the next two years.
But this development, the startup cautioned, will require a billion dollars in spending over the next 18 months.
As part of the investment agreement, Anthropic will use Amazon’s cloud giant AWS as a primary cloud provider for mission-critical workloads, including safety research and future foundation model development, the e-commerce group said.
“The last 10 years, there’s been this remarkable increase in the scale that we’ve used to train neural nets and we keep scaling them up, and they keep working better and better,” he said last week. “
In addition, Anthropic will provide AWS customers with early access to unique features for model customization and fine-tuning capabilities.
Spotify Podcasts in ANY Language?
Topline Spotify will start using artificial intelligence to translate podcasts into other languages, the company announced Monday as part of a partnership with OpenAI, as Spotify becomes the latest to use generative AI for its products.
The platform said it would use a new feature from OpenAI that can generate “human-like audio.”
The pilot includes three podcast episodes—including the Lex Fridman Podcast, Armchair Expert and The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett—available in Spanish to both subscribed and unsubscribed users, with episodes available in French and German “in the coming days and weeks.”
That’s how many users “regularly” listen to podcasts on Spotify, according to the company.
Key Background Other companies have started to use generative AI for its products in recent months.
